Four kilometers running to commemorate the four Saints of Cartagena (05/11/2019)

The runners will meet in the I edition of the race 'Four kms Santos' that will fill the streets of the city center on November 24 next to a solidarity march for the benefit of Diabetes by the hand of the Four Santos Athletics Club Cartagena next to the Sports Area of ​​the City Council of Cartagena.

The test has been presented this Tuesday, November 5, in front of the Roman Theater Plaza de la Condesa de Peralta by the delegated Councilor for Sports, Diego Ortega, along with the president of the Four Santos Athletics Club, Diego Martínez, and members of the Jorge club Diego Conesa, Diabetes patient, Santiago Campillo, musician, and Pablo Borque, poster designer.

In order to give a new approach to this type of evidence, the race is intended to recall the storm that Cartagena experienced on November 24, 1694, which is why the locals revered the four saints of the city asking to avoid a large catastrophe, embodied in the poster with the outfit of the race.

It has a not very extensive route, specifically they will be 4.4 km away with departure from the race and the march simultaneously from the Town Hall Square at 10.30am and finish in Torres Park.

In this way, the corridors will pass through the less traveled streets of the historic center, according to the organizer, such as Calle de la Gloria, Rise of San Diego, San Antonio el Pobre, del Rosario or the ascent of the Espigón, with the aim to give value to these less known areas but passing through emblematic sites such as the Santa María de Gracia Cathedral or the Roman Theater.

In addition, there will be animation at different points of the mainly musical tour in which the Friends of Modernist Cultural Association of Cartagena will be present at the Aguirre Palace, joining the march at the end of it, together with representatives of Carthaginians and Romans at its headquarters, a performance musical by the Stolen group, who will perform at the end of the test in concert at Torres Park, as well as the Cartagena saxophonist Don Sax in front of the Roman Theater, next to the Celticue pipers at the finish line.

It is a test marked by the solidarity character, since part of the benefits will go to the benefit of Diabetes for the Canin Foundation, which trains medical alert dogs, and also for Research for the Cure of Diabetes for All.

The test coincides with the month of this disease that is celebrated in November, with the collaboration of the Diabetes Federation of the Region of Murcia with that of Castilla La Mancha.

Those interested in participating in any modality can register until November 20 through the website www.lineadesalida.net with a price of 9 euros that includes the runner's bag with two t-shirts, one commemorative short sleeve and one technical long sleeve , among other details.

100 dorsals have been allocated to children under 14 years free for solidarity march.

The collection of bibs will be at the Palacio de los Deportes on Friday, November 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

They can also be picked up at the starting line before Sunday 24, the day of the race, before 09:30.
