As of Monday, November 4, the Cartagena City School of Public Safety has 44 new Local Police students.

Until the month of June, they will be in practice within a selective course of basic training.

The 42 men and 2 women who begin this training period today come from the free shift of the oppositions made.

Students will be in the ESPAC until June 2020. Once the course is over they will become members of the Cartagena Local Police Corps.

The protocol act of entry of the agents in practice has been chaired by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.

Representing the City Council of Cartagena, there have also been the Vice Mayor Noelia Arroyo, the Councilor for Citizen Security Juan Pedro Torralba and the mayor of Interior Esperanza Nieto.

On behalf of the Autonomous Community, there have been the Regional Secretary of the Treasury, Joaquín Gómez Gómez, and the General Director of the School of Training and Innovation of Public Administration, Isabel María Belmonte Martínez.

All students have sworn or promised loyalty to the King as Head of State and have pledged to enforce the Spanish Constitution as a fundamental rule of the State.

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has affirmed that “as of June, we will already have 44 new public officials to be able to carry out all security tasks and everything that entails the Local Police.

We also have pending the arrival of 10 agents who come from mobility places of other municipalities that we are waiting for.

From the Personnel Area they are working to see when they can arrive.

This would mean an increase in the staff of the Local Police of Cartagena of 54 more police â€.

The mayor says that these new additions will mean "a qualitative and quantitative leap" for the municipal police force.

For his part, the regional secretary of the Treasury, Joaquín Gómez Gómez has highlighted “the total collaboration†of the City Council of Cartagena with the Government of the Autonomous Community when designing the contents and managing this basic training course for agents in practices of the Local Police of Cartagena.

He also wanted to highlight that it is the first course that is conducted ad hoc at the School of Training and Innovation of the Public Administration for Local Police.
