Sixth Primary students from four schools participate in the Children's Plenary Program (31/10/2019)

The Councilor for Education of the City Council of Cartagena, Irene Ruiz, will visit on Monday, November 4, the CEIP Mediterráneo, one of the four municipal schools that participates in the Children's Plenary Program, and that will begin with preparations with a paste of posters and the Candidate selection

The visit will be from 10:30 am.

This program offered by the Department of Education to the courses of Sixth Primary consists of 7 sessions that are held in each of the centers, with the advice of a technician of the Department.

Throughout the following week, the colleges will carry out the reading and presentation of the electoral programs of the candidates chosen in the elementary schools held last week.

Starting the election campaign with the sticking of posters and rallies.

All this will culminate on Monday, December 4, at 10 am, in the Plenary Hall of the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena, where the plenary session of the 'Municipal Children's Plenary' program will take place.

The program begins with the delivery of teaching material and goes through the information and analysis of a real plenary session, the presentation of candidates and campaign teams, the actual election campaign, primary elections and preparation of mottos and motions.

The last session consists in the development of the plenary session at the City Hall, discussing the final motion prepared by each of the centers on the theme chosen for this year: 'Actions for the environment'.

The topic of the debate is proposed by the Department of Education among those that generate more interest in the population.

In this session, all students of Sixth of the 4 centers (about 250 children) will participate as spectators, and as representatives-councilors / mayor, 7 students from each center.

The schools that participate this year upon request and development of a project are:

• Mediterranean School

• Garden City College

• Gabriela Mistral College

• Virgen del Carmen College
