Classics, musicals, magic, puppets and works in English bring the theater closer to more than 12 thousand students in Cartagena (30/10/2019)

Youth harassment, climate change, nonviolence, healthy nutrition, promotion of reading and night fears are some of the themes of the plays that may be staged during this 2019-2020 school year.

They will be represented at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center and at the El Batel Municipal Auditorium and Conference Center.

The details of the works of the X edition of the Municipal Campaign 'Let's go to the theater', organized by the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena and Cajamar Caja Rural, have been offered on the morning of October 30 by the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz and by the director of Institutional Relations of Cajamar in Murcia, José Antonio Chumillas.

Since the 2010/2011 academic year began this collaboration with an offer of ten plays, and a participation of 22 educational centers and 2,900 schools, year after year according to the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, "has been exceeded in quantity, with an increase of the works and the requesting centers, in addition, in quality and diversity, offering a wide range of options, from classical works, in English, musicals, operas, puppets or magic â€.

In this tenth edition, 16 works have been offered, aimed at all ages, from 3 years to 18 years.

Irene Ruiz said that in total, 58 works in the municipality and 12,299 students will attend these works.

The works, 8 of them in Ramón Alonso Luzzy and 8, in Batel, in sessions of 10 and 12 hours are the following:

November 5: 'The place where words live': Primary 8-11 years.

January 24: 'Spectacular, Spectacular!': Secondary 12-15 years (10 hours).

January 24: 'McBeth's': Secondary 14-15 years and Baccalaureate (12 hours).

February 4: 'Stop the war, that I get off': Primary 8-11 years.

March 3: 'Comesueños': Infant 3-5 years and Primary 6-7 years

March 31: 'In case of harassment (a respect)': Secondary 12-15 years and Baccalaureate.

April 21: 'The cloud that didn't want to rain': Primary 8-11 years

April 30: 'When Dr. Jekyll met Mr. Hyde' Elementary 8-11 years

November 18: 'The Tin Soldier': Infant 3-5 years and Primary 6-7 years.

November 19: 'The Emperor's new suit': Elementary 8-11 years.

December 11: 'Flavors': Elementary 6-11 years.

January 22: 'The Princess and the Dragon': Infant 3-5 years and Primary 6-7 years.

January 23: 'My Funny Frankenstein': Elementary 8-11 years.

February 27: 'Hansel and Gretel': Infant 3-5 years and Primary 6-7 years.

March 10: 'The great game of Verdi': Primary 8-11 years.

April 29: 'Eliakan, the nosy elephant': 3-5 years and Primary 6-7 years.

April 30: 'The last crazy adventure of Holmes': Secondary 12-15 years.

Before the performance of the play 'The Adventures of Pinocchio', in Ramón Alonso Luzzy, for students from 3 to 7 years old, the director of Institutional Relations of Cajamar in Murcia, José Antonio Chumillas, has indicated that “they are fully satisfied with this work done thanks to the collaboration, work, effort and perseverance of the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena.

In addition, he said that where this campaign is carried out "Cartagena is the municipality with the best results in the entire Region of Murcia."
