The XXIX edition of the Cultural of the Cartagena Futuro Association, which will take place next Monday, October 21, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cultural Classroom of Cajamurcia (Casa Pedreño), will be led by the Professor of Ecology of the University from Murcia, Ángel Pérez Ruzafa, who will develop the conference 'The Mar Menor: Knowledge as the only weapon against despair'.

Pérez Ruzafa, who has focused his research work on the ecology of coastal lagoons, is one of the leading experts in marine protected areas and has developed many national and international projects.

In addition, he has developed a great teaching and research work, with more than 230 articles in scientific journals, and is currently the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia.

According to Ignacio Borgoñós, president of Cartagena Futuro, "for this start of the season, among the activities promoted by our association we felt morally obliged to address the problems of the Mar Menor, which agonizes as we are seeing with our own eyes and through the means of communication and social networks ".

And he adds that, "for this we wanted to have in a new edition of Los Culturales de Cartagena Futuro with which we consider the greatest expert in the field, Ángel Pérez Ruzafa, who will bring us the possible solutions for his recovery".

Burgundy concludes by extolling the importance of the theme chosen on this occasion, because "from our association we believe that it is a topic that is interesting enough and deserves everyone's attention. That is why we expect a large influx of people to the talk."

The attendance at the Pérez Ruzafa conference, which inaugurates' Los Culturales´ of the 2019/2020 season, is free until the capacity is reached.
