More than 50 fishermen will participate in the XIX National Open ´City of Cartagena´ (17/10/2019)

On the morning of next Saturday, October 19, more than 50 participants will meet in the XIX edition of the National Fishing Open 'City of Cartagena' organized by the Club de Pescadores Deportivos Albacora in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City Council of Cartagena

The tournament, belonging to the XXXI edition of Cristo de Medinaceli Sport Fishing and in the Mar-Costa modality, was presented this Thursday, October 17, in the José Albaladejo press room of the Town Hall by the delegated councilor of sports, Diego Ortega, next to the president of the fishing club, Salvador Monteagudo.

It brings together fishermen from all over the country, mainly from the Region but also from Andalusia and the Valencian Community, on the beach of the Hotel Entremares de La Manga and up to the Levante Beach in Cabo de Palos on Saturday, being on Sunday the 20th, when the final and awards ceremony will be played.

The maximum number of participants is set at around 50 due to the optimal control by the tournament judges.

The activities around the competition began last Saturday, Hispanic Day, at the cruise ship terminal, a competition for children and people with disabilities in collaboration with Prolam and Asido, which takes place every year in a beneficial way, since that all catches are donated to the Hospitality of Santa Teresa.

Last year, the Cartagena tournament was played in the spinning mode, being the first tournament of these characteristics that was held nationwide.
