Carmina Fernández: "PP and Citizens once again show their zero interest in Cartagena by voting against the application of the Law of Rosell" (09/10/2019)

The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group requires that there are no first and second citizens in the Region of Murcia, and ensures that for Cartagena, compliance with this law and the opening of the Hemodynamics service of the Santa Lucia hospital in Cartagena is essential for 24 hours, 365 days a year

The socialist regional deputy Carmina Fernández has assured that the Popular Party and Citizens again demonstrate their zero interest in Cartagena by voting against the application of the Law of Rosell, while denouncing that the regional government has been violating this rule since 2016 , since it has not launched this health center as the second hospital in Cartagena.

Carmina Fernández has defended in the plenary session of the Regional Assembly the socialist motion on the adoption of measures to guarantee compliance with the Rosell Law and the continued opening of the Hemodynamics service of the Santa Lucia hospital in Cartagena.

Regarding the law of Rosell, the Socialist deputy has indicated that a motion should not come to the Regional Assembly in which it enforces compliance with a law.

In this regard, he recalled that the expenditure on concerts in health centers per user, according to the data of the Autonomous Community health portal, are higher in Area II (Cartagena, Mazarrón, La Unión and Fuente Álamo) by 18 per percent, with respect to other areas of the Region.

"But there are also some figures that are very important and that show us the need to open the Rosell as soon as a second hospital, and those figures are the waiting lists. There are 6,000 women in Cartagena in Area II waiting for an ultrasound, of which 5,000 still have no date, "he said.

In addition, Carmina Fernández has denounced that the waiting time for a colonoscopy in the Region is 42 days, compared to the 74 in Area II;

for magnetic resonance imaging it is 47 days in Area II, and an average of 23 days in the rest of the Region, and in trauma surgery the figures soar: 90 days above in Area II with respect to the rest of the Region.

He has also noted that in the Angiology and Vascular Surgery service, which has been closed this summer, in Area II there are 83 more days on average than in the rest of the Region of Murcia.

"That is, 4,500 patients are on the waiting list in Area II, a figure that is well above other health areas in the Region. So the PP has no credibility when it says is that we have to continue working for to open the Rosell, what the regional government has to do that to open the Rosell as the second hospital in Cartagena ", has demanded.

With regard to the Hemodynamics service of the Santa Lucia hospital in Cartagena, the Socialist deputy has assured that it is essential that this unit be opened because we cannot have first and second citizens in this Region.

"For Cartagena, it is essential that this service be launched for 24 hours, 365 days a year."
