The Prosecutor files an anonymous complaint against Manuel Padín for an alleged crime of influence peddling (26/09/2019)

The Cartagena Area Prosecutor's Office has ordered the filing of a complaint filed anonymously against Councilman Manuel Padín for an alleged crime of influence peddling through an alleged influence exerted on public officials who processed a sanctioning file regarding the execution of Unlicensed works in a building on Saura Street where the mayor is usufructuary.

The complaint, which reached the Public Ministry without providing any documentation on the alleged commission of the crime, is preceded by a previous accusation by José López, "on behalf of the municipal group MC", according to the decree issued by the Prosecutor's Office, about alleged unlicensed works in the property, which resulted in a sanctioning record completed with the imposition of a fine and the suspension of the works performed.

Lopez argued that the mayor, spokesman for Citizens, provided documentation on the building accompanied by a letter with party letterhead and signed as councilor.

However, the Prosecutor's Office, in its decree issued on September 13 and notified to the City Council a few days ago, understands that it has not been proven that Padin "has exercised any influence on the public officials in charge of processing the sanctioning file", by what has decreed the file of the anonymous complaint filed.
