The Cartagena Jonda Flamenco Cycle begins its programming of this VII edition this Saturday, September 14 with a recital dedicated to the Cantes de Levante starring the winner of the 2018 Cartageneras National Contest, Antonio Porcuna “El Veneno”.
The Cordoba singer, winner of the National Flamenco Art Contest of Crdoba (2004) and the Mining Lamp of the Cante de las Minas Festival (1999) among many other awards, will be accompanied by Rafael Montilla "Chaparro" on guitar.
There will be nine concerts of this cycle of singing and dancing among which artists such as Enrique El Extremeo, La Kaita, Miguel Vargas, Raquel Cantero, Celia Romero or Fuensanta Blanco stand out, accompanied by activities such as a cycle of flamenco cinema, conferences, master class of dance and singing, flamenco palms workshops, a trip to the city of Cceres, and a permanent school of singing and guitar throughout the year.
The Cycle is organized by the Pea Flamenca de Cartagena "Antonio Piana" in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Region.
The concerts will be held at the Mare Nostrum Restaurant in the Port of Cartagena, while all courses will be taught at the Nuria Mas Dance Studio, and the flamenco film cycle at different venues in the city.
