The mayor announces the launch of an extraordinary program for the improvement of the riverside towns of the Mar Menor (22/08/2019)

In order to meet the requests of the residents of the southern area of ​​the Mar Menor, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, announced during the extraordinary session of the full of the corporation on Thursday, August 22, the creation and implementation of an Extraordinary Program for Improvement Actions in the Riparian Peoples of the Mar Menor.

This program, which will have a specific budget, responds to the urgent situation presented by this area of ​​our coast, which was manifested by the neighbors who attended the ordinary full past of July 26, when they expressed their disagreement with the current state of the lagoon in Los Urrutias, Punta Brava, El Carmolí and Los Nietos.

Likewise, it will be multiannual in nature and a Monitoring Commission will be set up for the fulfillment of the commitments acquired by all administrations, as well as the deadlines established in each and every one of the investments.

"We will demand that this municipal investment be added contributions from the CARM and the State because they must also assume their responsibility," said the mayor during the plenary session.

Similarly, the Municipal Service responsible for centralizing all actions in the towns of the Mar Menor and also coordinating them with other administrations will be promoted.

In this way, the mayor has shown her commitment to the neighbors to whom she has apologized for not having held the plenary session in Los Urrutias, as was her objective, due to regulatory issues and also reminded them of the investment made in the previous legislature in its environment of 191,377.36 euros in the improvement in children's areas, squares, public lighting, promenades, civic center, soccer field or sidewalks, among others.

That is why he also summoned the neighbors to an assembly after this extraordinary session of the plenary session to the residents of Los Urrutias, as well as Punta Brava, El Carmolí and Los Nietos in which they can express their concerns in this regard.

It has also concluded with the announcement of the implementation of the ADLE Neighborhoods program in the coastal towns of the Mar Menor, in order to train workers in the area who are unemployed and improve the infrastructure of the coastal towns.
