Infrastructure is organized to respond to the storm of the east (31/07/2019)

The municipal brigades that work in the coastal zone have organized with the employees of the brigades of the Autonomous Community and the rest of municipal services to give a quick response to the incidents that the Levante storm generates on the beaches of Cartagena, as it has informed the Councilor for Infrastructure, María Casajús.

Up to 12 red flags fly this Wednesday on beaches of the Mediterranean slope of La Manga between Cartagena and San Javier, and specifically, with regard to Cartagena, on the beaches of Monteblanco, Galúa, Las Sirenas, Entremares, Zeus and Playa de Lift off Cabo de Palos.

The forecast of the municipal officials is to concentrate more efforts on the beaches of the west of the Mar Menor, Los Urrutias, Punta Brava and Los Nietos, which are the most affected by this wind regime.

In this area, a total of 36 workers from five municipal and Community brigades will work, divided into morning and afternoon shifts.

The action is being organized to focus the work in the areas where accumulation of contributions on the sand is detected by the action of the waves.

Cleaning tasks will intensify throughout the Mar Menor and La Manga when the wind goes down, which could continue to be strong on Thursday, so that the state of the sand is optimal for the weekend.
