MC: "The Government of the lash prepares another New Door" (31/07/2019)

Castejón, Arroyo and Padín finish with the excavations and the patrimonial recovery and announce urbanizations in Monte Sacro and Molinete

Yesterday, a meeting of the Board of Directors of Casco Antiguo was held in which the tripartite government announced that it will promote construction on two of the hills of the municipality, Molinete and Monte Sacro, returning to policies sponsored for decades by the PP of Pilar Barreiro.

After knowing that the plans of the socialist mayor go through the 'devastation' of the Historic District and impose an unsustainable urban planning, MC yesterday opposed any intervention of this type remembering that it must be excavated in the Windlass and Monte Sacro before building .

Regarding Monte Sacro, it was reiterated that in this area any intervention must include, in the first place, the construction of a public school, a claim shared with the Federation of Associations of Parents of Students of Cartagena (FAPA) that has once again claimed that the Plan General rate some land as educational equipment so that a public school can be built in the center.

In relation to public lots, Cartagenerist training demands that they be allocated primarily to equipment and that the City of Cartagena does not add to the speculation that burdens the Historic District.

The spokesman of the municipal group MC Cartagena, José López, has lamented that "the City Council is once again at the service of the promoters, since the children of Alonso and Barreiro have not taken a month to announce that they will replicate Puerta Nueva."

The mayor has revealed that "the lash announced yesterday that it will dedicate the municipal land on the Monte Sacro and the Windlass to build houses; they abandon the excavations, the creation of parks and free spaces, including the need for a school on the Monte Sacro proposed by MC and FAPA ".

Along these lines, he explained that "maybe that's why they replace an archeologist with a psychologist, to help them in their relations with companies."

"They will also soon be missing a criminal lawyer," López said, who said that "from MC we demand that they end the speculation and dedicate the efforts of the Urban Planning service to prepare the administrative framework to force the promoters to build in the 100 lots that exist in the Historic District ".

The cartagenerista spokesman has advanced that "for that reason, we will take to the Plenary the fulfillment of the Regional Land Law of 2015 that, in its article 235, gives a period of five years to build, enabling the City Council to force this building and even expropriate to carry it out, therefore, as of 2020, the local administration can force the owners to build. "

Finally, José López has stressed that "the local government is not to buy contaminated land or protect balls, but to encourage sustainable development and build a friendly municipality, but Castejón, Arroyo and Padín only know how to be kind to the companies that have put on the couch they don't deserve. "

In contrast to this unsustainable and irrational urbanism defended by Castejón, Arroyo and Padín, MC promoted, during its management in the municipal government, responsible and social management, reducing considerably the debt of the Casco Antiguo society, as well as initiating works such as the new public space of the Sor Francisca Armendáriz square, the Archeology Campus, the correction of urbanization errors of the University District, the fencing and cleaning of lots, and other social actions such as the recovery of degraded environments such as the Castle of los Moros or Monte Sacro, promoting urban regeneration and social integration.
