MC will prioritize in the first ordinary session of the legislature the demand for investments in neighborhoods and councils Among the initiatives presented are the recovery of the Works and Services Plan and the municipal investment in the improveme (20/07/2019)

Next Friday, July 26 will be held the first regular meeting of the Corporation in the 2019-2023 term.

During the session, MC will present a series of initiatives aimed at improving the situation of neighborhoods and councils in relation to infrastructure, security or financing, among others.

The councilor of the Cartagena training, Enrique Perez, will ask during the session that the municipal government, once the regional executive is constituted, "initiate the necessary negotiations and negotiations with the regional administration for the restoration of the Cooperation Plan for Works and Services in the regional budget of 2020. "

Pérez recalled that "the Autonomous Community left our neighborhoods and councils orphans in this investment in 2011," explaining that "the deviation of this economic resource from CARM to other macro-regional projects has meant the loss of some thirty million euros that should have reached our neighborhoods and councils. "

For this reason, the MC initiative aims to ensure the sufficient economic amount to alleviate the "flagrant lack of investment that our neighborhoods and councils have suffered for at least a decade".

In this line regarding the investment in neighborhoods and councils, it should be recalled that MC has already announced the submission of a motion urging the municipal government to include municipal budgets annex territorialization for neighborhoods and councils, as well as the balance of its execution when they are settled at the end of the year.

70% of the inhabitants of Cartagena reside in neighborhoods and councils, which makes the attention to the needs of these neighbors a priority.

Improvement in road safety and accessibility for neighborhoods and councils

On the other hand, given the lack of road safety in the road RM-E18, denounced by neighbors and users, between 3,600 and 7,400 kilometers, points of intersection in The Guide with RM-605 and in Molinos Marfagones with the RM-332 , MC Cartagena will demand that its marking, protection and signaling of the area be corrected immediately.

In the same way, Enrique Perez will take to the Plenary several questions about the alteration of the public road in the Gran Vía de La Manga, exit 4 in the direction of Torre Varadero, as a consequence of the substitution of the dividing line for a row of cypresses and a fence movable between the Gemini urbanization and the roadway, leaving no space for passers-by who make this route.

The councilor will be interested in whether the Department of Public Road has knowledge about this fact and if any action is going to be taken to ensure pedestrian safety.

Likewise, MC will require that the breakage of a tile in one of the access steps to the Los Mateos medical office be solved as soon as possible, thus avoiding possible situations of danger and falls of users and staff of the health center.

Finally, the mayor of MC Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, will present a request for the construction or installation of a ramp that allows easy access, through the main entrance, to the La Palma football field from his car park, since the sidewalk is not has no accessibility measure for baby carts or wheelchairs, there being a considerable distance to the nearest zebra crossing.
