Maintenance of the coast

With the beginning of summer, the City Council has launched a specific and exclusive service for the maintenance of the beaches of our coast.

From the Department of Infrastructures, the number of workers assigned to the beach areas has increased and work is being done on the coordination of the different maintenance brigades, both those of civil servants, as well as those of municipal and community contractors.

Summing them all up, they currently work daily in the cleaning and maintenance of coastal samples.

130 workers;

142, together with those of the Community. They have at their disposal 25 vehicles and 6 clean beach machines, which work mainly at night.

Cleaning on the beaches of the South of the Mar Menor is done by combining machinery and manual labor, following the recommendations of the scientists, which establish what can and can not be done at any time of the year.

One of the reasons why the regional and central governments are so urgent is the Mar Menor and the need to activate the Zero Discharge plan.
