Trovers and rappers acting on the same stage and accepting the challenge of merging two musical and oral arts of yesterday and today, whose fundamental link is improvisation.
This is one of the activities that can be enjoyed in the celebration of Rural Art, next July 19, in the town of La Magdalena, in order to establish links and promote knowledge of urban culture and culture traditional of the field.
The Association of Neighbors of La Magdalena, promotes this initiative that they organize cooperating jointly with the Culture Music Association, headed by Antonio Acosta Sánchez 'Nova' and with the Asociación Trovera José María Marín, which presides over the Juan José Parra trouvero.
This event has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, the Municipal Neighborhood Board of Molinos Marfagones, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations 'Fernando Garrido' and various companies and businesses Cartagena.
Culture Music is a young association in every way, founded in 2017 and dedicated to music and urban culture.
Its main purpose is to help young people throughout the municipality of Cartagena with healthy leisure alternatives.
For this, they hold workshops and music concerts, in which they participate by exhibiting their creations.
The veteran trovera association José María Marín was born in 1992 with the aim of preserving and spreading such an unique artistic activity as El Trovo.
In addition, they constantly watch over the purity and respect to the norms established in Spanish poetry, in what refers to the use of the perfect consonant rhyme and the measure of the octosyllabic verse in each improvised stanza, currently promoting the knowledge of the trovo through of evenings in many places, school visits, the Taller del Trovo School in Galifa and the organization of the prestigious International Festival of Improvised Poetry 'Trovalia'.
The respect and the non-use of inappropriate words or insults is the only 'red line' that has been established in this challenge in which newcomers and veterans of both associations will exhibit their art, without previous trials and in an experiment around which They will bring together the oldest and the young, fostering cultural knowledge and intergenerational exchange.
The program of activities is open to participation and takes place in a day of coexistence of members of the associations involved and all those interested and includes, from the realization by the graffiti artist Kroner of a mural with the theme 'Life in the field ', exhibitions of Parkour, Beatbox and Freestyle, a talk to explain what is the trovo and what is rap, as well as a route called' Discover La Magdalena ', made by the training module of heritage route guides cultural and natural environment framed in the EtnoNatura Bética Cartagena project, developed by the Soldecocos Association.
In addition, there will be an exhibition of novels from the Escuela del Trovo and the Culture Music Youth Association and performances by rappers such as Leyen, Raúl MC, Crispy and Nova;
and of troveros like Juan Santos the 'Baranda', Juan José Parra, Juan Ramón Molina and Ángel Herrero on guitar.
The day ends with a Final Duel, where trovers and rappers will put on stage all their art and poetry.
The organization makes available to the young people of Cartagena a free bus from Belmonte to complete their places, leaving at 12:30, from the Cartagonova Stadium and return at 2 am on Saturday 20.
