The Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena delights the public of El Batel with its journey'To a new world' (15/07/2019)

This Saturday, July 13, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena offered the audience of the Auditorium El Batel their summer concert, under the title 'Towards a new world'.

'The unanswered question' by Charles Ives, and the 'Symphony of the New World' by Antonín DvoÅ™ák, were the pieces played by JOSCT, in a concert that also included the saxophonist Antonio Felipe Belijar.

The councilor of the Area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martinez, the delegated councilor of Culture, Carlos Piñana, and the ediles of the Municipal Corporation Jose Lopez, Jesus Giménez and Ricardo Segado were among the attending public, that left almost full the audience of the Cartagena auditorium.

In "The unanswered question" by Charles Ives, the audience could hear an avant-garde piece with philosophical overtones that invited attendees to a period of reflection.

After this first part of the concert, the main course arrived.

On the stage of the El Batel Auditorium there was the Symphony No. 9 in G Mayor by Antonín DvoÅ™ák, also known as the 'New World Symphony'.

This score is known in part for its appearance on the Star Wars soundtrack.

As an aperitif to the concert, on Friday, July 12, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena conducted a free open-door rehearsal for anyone who wanted to see the preparation of the works by the artists.

In addition, the JOSCT organized a Day of Hemodonation and recruitment of marrow donors.

Everything collected was destined to the blood banks of the Region of Murcia.
