The Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, has put out to tender the works of reconstruction of the road surface RM-E33, which links El Albujón with La Aljorra, in Cartagena, in order to try to avoid produce floods in the surroundings of the ravine of El Albujón.
The budget for this action amounts to 430,615 euros and is expected to last for 3 months.
The problem of periodic flooding that the road suffers is aggravated by the proximity of the ravine of El Albujón, which affects the neighbors of nearby towns and road users with each episode of heavy rains.
The work, which will be undertaken between kilometer point 0.5 and 1.5, pursues a dual purpose.
On the one hand, to rebuild and strengthen the road surface and, on the other hand, to avoid the flooding of the road in episodes of intense rains, for which transverse drainage systems will be installed, ditches and berms will be built.
The solution consists of widening the road, which will have two lanes, each 3 meters, two shoulders on each side of 0.50 meters, and two berms of 21 to 49 centimeters on both sides.
In addition, the road surface will be reinforced by extending three layers of road to strengthen the roadway.
The longitudinal drainage network will be improved with concrete lined ditches and transversal drainage works with pipes and concrete frames to facilitate the evacuation of rainwater in case of heavy rains.
Berms and gutters will be built, which will have a width that will vary between 1.93 and 2.43 meters.
Finally, the installation of vehicle containment elements and the renewal of vertical and horizontal signaling are planned.
Those interested in this tender will have a term of 20 calendar days, from the day following the publication in the profile of the contractor of the Autonomous Community, to present their offers in the register of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure.
