The Municipal School of Theater puts the finishing touch with a dozen plays (07/06/2019)

The Municipal Theater School of Cartagena will hold its End of Course exhibition, from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 27 June.

A final touch in which the performances of the different groups that have participated in the theater school will take place.

In total, more than 250 students will meet at the Luzzy.

The presentation of the program has taken place this Friday, June 7 and has run by the acting councilor of Culture of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, and the director of the Municipal School of Theater, Alfredo Avila.

The week of amateur theater in Cartagena will begin on Tuesday, June 18, at 7:00 pm, with the performance of three plays, performed by the first and second children's groups and the first pre-youth group of the Municipal School.

The works represented will be 'Snow White and the seven dwarfs', 'Where does the heart hide?'

and 'Penelope'.

On Thursday 20, at 7:00 p.m., the third group of children and the second pre-youth group of the Municipal School will perform two works such as '¡Vaya mess!'

and 'Poemario'.

The Kreateatro company will take the stage on Saturday, June 22, at 7:45 p.m., with the work of Federico García Lorca, 'The unfinished work'.

The youth groups will return to show their talent on Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25.

The works, which are going to be performed at 7 pm in these respective days, are 'Bicycles are for the summer', by Fernando Fernán Gómez, and, 'It's the war!', By Alonso Santos.

On Wednesday the 26th, at 7:30 p.m., the adult group of the Municipal School will perform the play 'Destrozando a los clásicos', by Alfredo Ávila.

The next day, on June 27, videos of the activities carried out by the students during the classes will be screened.

The 'Short Film Gala' will take place at 7:00 p.m.

To close this twenty-second edition will be held at the Plaza Juan XXIII, Friday June 28, at 20:00, the Closing Gala, which will be delivered the diplomas to all participants and a play will be staged .

The acting mayor of Culture, David Martinez, said that the reason that the Closing Gala is not held in the Assembly Hall of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center is because it is very important "to bring theater and culture to the street "

All functions will have free tickets until full capacity is reached.

MUNICIPAL SUMMER SCHOOL

Children from Cartagena from 4 to 11 years old can have fun and learn with the theater during the month of July.

You can sign up either the first or the second fortnight or the whole month and thus know "the benefits of the theater", as explained by the director of the Municipal School of Theater, Alfredo Ávila.

The workshops will be in the mornings, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Youth Resource Center.

It should be noted that the groups are small, around 15 students.

MEDITERRANEAN INTERPRETATION SCHOOL

The Cartagena will be able to sign up for a musical improvisation workshop, on July 10, 11 and 12, from 4 to 8 pm, given by the musician Raúl Beatmac.

According to Alfredo Ávila, "a workshop to learn to sing through theater, games and creativity".

The 12-hour course at the Youth Resource Center will be completed with Álex Rigola's workshop, from July 22 to 26.

The director of the Municipal School of Theater has stressed that he is an author who "only gives one course every five years".

These workshops are important, according to Alfredo Ávila, because they make "Cartagena continue to be a national and international reference in theatrical pedagogy".
