The president of the Senate, Manuel Cruz, closes Cartagena Thinks about the meaning of democratic regeneration (03/06/2019)

This Wednesday June 5 the philosopher Manuel Cruz visits us in Cartagena Piensa to talk about the question 'What are we talking about when we talk about democratic regeneration?', In the Assembly Hall of the Roman Theater Museum, at 8:00 p.m. .

It will be presented by Belén Rosa de Gea, member of the promoter group of Cartagena Piensa.

Manuel Cruz, recently elected president of the Senate, has not wanted to miss his commitment made months ago with Cartagena Piensa, despite the obligations of his new position.

In an approximation, it would seem evident that it only requires regeneration that, in one way or another, has degenerated or, at least, deteriorated.

With what the question that it would seem necessary to define, or at least delimit, is what this presumed degeneration or deterioration consists of.

The conviction that beats behind this seemingly simple proposal is that perhaps the list of grievances and reproaches, which are often formulated to the democratic system, are indicators of less visible elements but that, in the end, are the ones that explain the remarkable disaffection that citizens feel towards the political order in which we live.
