Students of all ages begin in photography in the I edition of the Business Photography Course (28/05/2019)

On Tuesday, May 28, the closing and delivery of diplomas of the 1st edition of the Business Photography Course took place.

In total, 17 students, between twenty and fifty years old, have started in photography, from April 8 to May 28, two days a week, in a course of 50 hours, which is framed within of the Fixed Classroom Program of the Local Development and Employment Agency of the City of Cartagena (ADLE).

The delivery of diplomas that has been held in the ADLE offices in the Juvenile Center of Quarries, has had the presence of the manager of the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE), Fulgencio Cerón, and the photography instructor, Fructuoso Navarrese.

Through this training action, students have learned the basics of digital imaging, the operation of photographic equipment, light capture systems, exposure modes, memory cards, digital files, digital composition, and, the projection in the photography market.

According to the professor of the course, Fructuoso Navarro, "almost 90% of the students have started in photography."

During this time, they also received a talk from the Entrepreneurship Department of the ADLE, within the Emprende-Idea Program, in order to inform them about the services that the Agency has in the event that entrepreneurial initiatives arise after the completion of this Formative action.

All this training has been completed with visits to companies related to the business photography sector and talks by entrepreneurs already established in this sector.

Ana María Bernal, one of the students, pointed out that thanks to this course "she is going to focus her hairdressing in a more professional way, taking photographs before and after the hairstyles".

Another of the students, Jessica Moreno, said that although she had no notions about this subject, "photography opens many doors in the labor market."

Fructuoso Navarro concluded by emphasizing that "photography should be a key subject in the university because it is important for Engineering, Biology, Medicine or Architecture".

In addition, he explained how photography adds value to different jobs, for example when it comes to making police reports.
