The neighborhoods, protagonists on Thursday of the agenda of the festival Much More May (15/05/2019)

among other activities throughout the day |

This Thursday, the 16th, the Mucho Más Mayo festival, organized by the Department of Culture, focuses its attention on the invited neighborhoods in this tenth edition, with very varied proposals.

Throughout the day, at the CEIP Stella Maris in the Virgen de La Caridad neighborhood, the Mario Company, coordinated by ACCEM, will hold a participatory workshop and a mural painting under the name 'Letters that welcome' with the students of the center education of the neighborhood and with neighbors, to choose a motto in relation to the reception of people who come from outside and become new neighbors.

Once chosen, the Mario Company will carry out a collective artistic intervention.

The neighborhood of San Antón will be the end of the itinerary that the IES Juan Sebastián Elcano will realize the students of the 1st Baccalaureate of Arts of the institute, accompanied by their teachers Mateo Ripoll Planas and Ignacio García Fornet, in an activity that began the past May 13 at the educational center.

During the tour the participants will draw and photograph those corners and spaces of their interest in an integral activity of sketching, photography and literature, that from day 20 will have its expression in a collective exhibition in the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, called 'Cuadernos' of neighborhood.

At 4:30 p.m. at La Botica del Libro del Barrio José M.ª de Lapuerta, the workshop 'Inner Peace' conducted by Cintia Fernández and coordinated by Innerpeace.org proposes, from games, stories and a children's workshop, the improvement of attention.

Starting at 7:00 pm in El Bosque de los Relatos in the same neighborhood you can contemplate a permanent artistic installation and sculptures, made by the group + Formas.

Living Arts.

'Poesía sin fronteras' will take place in the Plaza del Museo del Vidrio, Barrio de Santa Lucía, at 7:30 p.m., being the third open-air poetry recital held in the neighborhood by the cultural magazine The flight of flamenco and Bálamo del arte , in a bid to give voice to the younger generation of Cartagena poets.

In their voices we can listen to poems written by people who have lived in exile and migrations, along with the creations of each one of them.

Finally, at 7:30 p.m. at the Pedreño Palace, headquarters of the Cajamurcia Foundation, Cartagena Piensa, together with the festival, offers us the conference by Javier de Lucas entitled 'Hospitality and barbarism.

Europe before the new ulises'.

This professor of Philosophy of Law and Political Philosophy is dedicated to problems of human rights in migration policies, legitimacy, democracy and obedience to Law.

It will be presented by Natalia Moraes, professor of the Department of Sociology of the University of Murcia and coordinator of the Refugees project.
