The Municipal School Council supports its support to Carthaginians and Romans and Carnival as festivities (24/04/2019)

The Municipal School Council, which met on Tuesday, April 23, at the old school Carmen Conde, agreed on the school calendar for the next academic year 2019-2020, with respect to the six local holidays that correspond to determine according to the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

Chaired by the edile of Education, Mercedes Garcia, and with the assistance of the former president and vocal, David Martinez Noguera, the full council supported, by the majority of the votes, keep as non-school days on Thursday of Carthaginians and Romans, 26 September, and Monday of Carnival, February 24.

They join them on April 13, Easter Monday;

Monday, December 23 (to advance the start of the Christmas holidays to Friday, December 21);

on March 20 (bridge of San José) and on June 8 (bridge of the Day of the Region).

In the same way, they unanimously agreed to issue two resolutions.

The first is to urge the Ministry of Education, to adapt the existing legislation on rules for the development of the school calendar in municipalities, so as to allow the free election of an annual day by the different districts and county councils of the municipality , to be able to celebrate the patterns and maintain the customs and traditions of each territory.

In addition, it was decided to also urge the Ministry of Education to, in the fulfillment of its competences, review the Self-protection and Evacuation plans of the educational centers and correct the deficiencies of security and prevention of detected occupational risks.
