Book Week begins to fill Cartagena with pages of activities (22/04/2019)

From April 23 to 27, Cartagena celebrates Book Week with various activities.

Tertulias, workshops or meetings with authors will be some of the free events that will take place in different libraries and places of the municipality.

In addition, the VII Literary Meeting of Authors of Cartagena and the 25th anniversary of the Rafael Rubio Library of Los Dolores, the first of the municipal network.

The activities are organized by the Department of Culture of Cartagena, through the Network of Municipal Libraries of Cartagena,

April 23th.

International Book Day, Plaza San Francisco will host, at 10 and 12 o'clock, a concerted activity with the schools Virgen del Mar de Santa Lucía and Mastia on Gerónimo and Tea Stilton in Biblioratonia.

At 6:00 pm, the Rafael Rubio Library in Los Dolores holds a Arteando children's workshop under the title 'Píntame un cuento'.

To participate will require prior registration in this library.

At 7:00 p.m., the Plaza del Icue hosts 'Voces para las tertulias', where there will be a chained reading of the authors invited to the meetings of gatherings.

It will be entertained by the Cartagena saxophonist Donsax.

The Councilor for Culture of Cartagena, David Martínez, recalled that this year is the 25th anniversary of the Network of Municipal Libraries of Cartagena.

On Wednesday, April 24 at 9:30 am, the Assembly Hall of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center receives Carles Cano, the author of 'El secreto del abuelo'.

Cano will star in a new delivery of Encuentros con autor with 3rd grade students.

At 6:00 pm, the Manuel Puig Campillo Library in Barrio Peral celebrates the Arteando children's workshop 'Píntame un cuento'.

For this activity, prior registration in this library will be necessary.

At 7:00 pm, the Isaac Peral Assembly Hall of the School of Business Sciences of the UPCT celebrates the XI meeting of gatherings of the Network of Municipal Libraries of Cartagena.

On Thursday, April 25 at 9:30 am, the Rafael Rubio and Manuel Puig Campillo libraries will receive the writer Carles Cano.

At 10 and 12 o'clock, the children's play 'El Mago de Oz' is performed in the Luzzy Acting Hall.

At 7:00 pm, the Ceremonial Hall of the Consistorial Palace hosts the presentation of the book 'Say Kabit and other poems' by Jesús Aguado, winner of the XXXII International Poetry Prize Antonio Oliver Belmás.

Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

At 7:30 p.m., Plaza San Francisco will have the Arteando adult workshop 'A book, a tree, a story'.

At 20 hours, the book 'Blue in the Magic Orb' by Yolanda Viveros will be presented at the Josefina Soria Library in El Luzzy.

25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBRARY RAFAEL RUBIO

On Friday, April 26, there will be celebrations for the 25 years of the Rafael Rubio Library in Los Dolores.

This was the first library of the Municipal Network.

The activities will take place in this space and at the IES San Isidoro de Los Dolores.

There will be workshops of all kinds and representations.

In addition, at 6:00 pm, the Alfonso Carrión Inglés Library in Pozo Estrecho will host a new delivery of the Arteando children's workshop 'Píntame un cuento'.

As in the other workshops, prior registration is required in this library.

At 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, Mister Witt Café celebrates a story session for adults with the author and narrator Pablo Albo who will present the attendees 'Pálpito'.

On Saturday, April 27, Plaza San Francisco hosts a series of activities.

At 10 o'clock, there will be a chess tournament for all audiences.

At 12:30 hours, Cirko Psikario presents a family activity, ALOLÓ.

At 2:00 pm, the prizes will be awarded to the winners of the chess tournament.

VII LITERARY MEETING OF AUTHORS OF CARTAGENA

Within this week of the book of Cartagena, the VII Literary Meeting of Authors of Cartagena will be held.

Among some of the activities, at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, will take place the prize for micro-stories 'Lola Fernández Moreno' at the ISEN university center.

At 7:00 pm, the Santos Ochoa bookshop hosts the presentation of the play 'El demonio escondido' by José Antonio Jiménez Barbero.

Between Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, there will be three round tables.

III MARCAPÁGINAS COMPETITION

A bookmark development contest will also be held.

Until April 24, those interested in making reading points can present their work in the municipal libraries or at abrilibro@ayto-cartagena.es.

The award ceremony will be on April 27 at Plaza San Francisco at 2:00 p.m.
