Cs warns that the spaces of the Antonio Arévalo must be given under criteria of necessity to avoid grievances and dedazos (11/04/2019)

Cartagena, Thursday, April 11.

Citizens today recalled the announcement made by the Government of Cartagena in November 2018 to include in the next municipal budgets a game of 300,000 euros to prepare the Antonio Arévalo school so that it can be used by various cultural and socio-health groups "apparently all political parties They are going to include this objective in their electoral program and despite the satisfaction we feel for this desirable conjunction of political wills, I have to warn that in Citizens we will not allow the dedazos in the adjudication of assignments as we are used to so much PP like PSOE ", says the spokesman of the liberal party in Cartagena, Manuel Padín.

"The process that is chosen to give spaces to associations and groups has to be carried out under clear criteria of equality and necessity and with maximum transparency", warns the spokesman of the Liberal Party, which is clear that "this infrastructure has many suitors, that the demand is very high and therefore requires that its use be regulated with great responsibility to avoid discriminations and comparative grievances, in order to prevent the classic bipartisan dedazos ".

Citizens has pressed and has brought many questions to the plenary sessions to know the status of this project, promised since 2015, and know the roadmap to offer spaces to our associations and groups.

"The transfer of this space can not be subordinated to the discretionary whims of the PSOE or the PP, and if it depends on Cs, we are committed to initiate or impose a transparent, impartial and fair process that is based on criteria of necessity, priority and suitability. among our groups ", explained Manuel Padín.

Inaction and promises of PP and PSOE

This school was closed in 2010 by the Autonomous Community, which did not perform any action for improvement in it.

In mid-2016, the City of Cartagena requested the transfer of the school Antonio Arévalo with the aim of conditioning their spaces for socio-cultural activities and sports, something that to date has not known, could or wanted to do.

The agreement for this assignment was ratified on August 2, 2017 in the Governing Council.
