The Fiestas of Carthaginians and Romans went to Mas de las Matas (Teruel) (08/04/2019)

The annual Assembly of the AEFRH was held this year in the town of Mas de las Matas, a town and municipality belonging to the Comarca of Bajo Aragón, in the province of Teruel, on the 5th, 6th and 7th of April.

It was attended by Antonio Madrid Fernández President of the AEFRH, on this occasion, the President of the Federation of Troops and Legions of the Parties of Carthaginians and Romans José Antonio Meca Martínez, who holds the position of Vice President of the AEFRH could not attend, being represented by the Vowel of Historical Festivals and Press Pedro Vidal Bayona, accompanied by the Vocal of Financing Lorenzo Jerez Paredes.

At 20:00 hours, the Mayor of Mas de Las Matas, Pedro Pitarch Cañada, had words of thanks to all the displaced people of the AEFRH.

The hosts and organizers of 'El Regreso del Comendador', the Masino Studies Group welcomed all those attending the assembly, the president of the association Joaquín Mir Sancho said in his speech: "We want to get even more promotion and to be known in all our Bajo Aragón our recreation, of which we are so proud ".

Assembly

Throughout the day on Saturday, and from 9:00 in the morning there were meetings of the Assembly, with five working groups, where, in addition to the ordinary management topics of the Spanish Association, the incorporation of the new parties that will become members of the AEFRH.

The AEFRH holds these meetings in the different locations to which the associated parties belong, with the aim that all members have the opportunity to show the richness and history of each place.

About 80 people, belonging to 31 historical recreations that are already part of the AEFRH, participated in this meeting between representatives and companions, the latter had a parallel program of activities, having an opportunity to know the town and its tourist resources.

Closure of the program

In the afternoon, the hosts briefly represented in the arches of the City Hall, the Commander's Return ceremony, and later, as usual, there was a parade through the city with all the components, dressed in their respective festive costumes.

A Choral Association in the Church of San Juan Bautista (baroque construction of the 18th century), delighted the audience with a varied repertoire of chants and carols from medieval times.

The finale of Saturday was closed with a spectacular gala dinner.

There were entertainments during it.

In the end it was counted with the intervention of the magnificent singer-songwriter Chema Bello.

And the Commander had words of thanks for all the attendees.

The next Assembly of 2020 will be next year in the city of Calatayud (Teruel).
