The jaloque decided the end of the Tour of the Islands (08/04/2019)

With the fifth test held on Sunday, April 7 in the waters of the Bay of Cartagena, the second round of the Vuelta a las Islas Regatta concluded, which has been organized by the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena since the beginning of the year for sailing cruises and in which the City of Cartagena collaborates.

The race committee developed the classic route from the inside of the dock and, surrounding the island of Las Palomas, return to port, where the arrival was installed.

However, the presence of the southeast wind, the sudden encalmadas and some other role, turned the race into a challenge where technique and experience were definitive.

Those who knew how to take advantage of this jaloque reached the island with sufficient advantage to do with some slack the last stretch of tight and decide the positions of this tight cruise regatta, which competes with the best boats and crews in the region.

Thus, the final results of this 29th Tour of the Islands (Act II) are the following: in ORC 1 the leader is Sirius V, of the Navy Naval Commission of Regatas;

in ORC 2 it occupies the first position El Carmen, by José Coello Núñez (RCRC);

in ORC 3, it is first Cañas II, by Ortiz, Montoya, Rosas and Albaladejo (RCRC);

in ORC 4 the winner is Pinto Tercero, by María Dolores Martínez (RCRC);

and in ORC 5 won Garola III, by Lalo Gómez-Vizcaíno Castelló (RCRC).

The award ceremony will take place on May 11 during the Cruise Gala held annually by the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena.
