During the second day of the V Congress organized by the Faculty of Sports of the Campus of Los Dolores it is clear that Andalusia is the only Autonomous Community that includes the trail in the school curriculum despite the benefits for health and that patients with type 1 diabetes, they must plan their participation in ultra-resistance more in advance.

San Antonio Catholic University will once again collaborate in the celebration of the Route of the Fortresses that will be celebrated tomorrow with the participation of 60 of its students as volunteers in the provisioning points of the Atalaya Castle, the Battery of Fajardo, the neighborhood of Lo Campano, the Plaza de San Francisco and the Meta.

For the first time students of the Degree in Podiatry will participate to attend the problems that may arise at the feet of the runners, while the students of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences will participate as logistical support of the race, the students of the Degree in Physiotherapy will contribute to the physical recovery of the participants to deal with contractures and other muscular problems in the middle of the route and at the end.

For their part, the undergraduates of the Degrees in Infant and Primary Education will hold animation workshops at the end of the event and the Nursing students will support the health services deployed for the test.

Nordic mace and trail run tests in the media

In another vein, this morning is the second day of the V International University Congress of Trail Running and Adventure Raids Ruta de las Fortalezas 2019 in which professors Antonio Baena and Antonio Granero of the University of Granada and Almeria are developing They emphasized that "in Andalusia the curriculum in Bachillerato expressly includes adventure raids".

These teachers have stressed the benefits of this relationship of students with nature "to address the TDH, prevent asthma, myopia, rickets, ... increase physical activity and strengthen the immune system."

For his part, the chief doctor of SODICAR, Javier González, explained that there are a good number of ultra-resistance runners with type 1 diabetes and recommended to these patients a good planning with their personal trainer and their medical team with more advance than the not sick

Next, the Soy Nordic Walking Spain athlete Isidro López gave a workshop on the use of Nordic walking sticks in Trail races.

To conclude the congress, journalists Diego Sánchez of Diario La Opinión, Francis Moya of La Verdad and Adrián Bonache of the Athletics Federation of the Region analyzed the communicative dimension of the trail run tests and adventure rads.

In this sense, they agreed that from the first moment they realized that the Route of the Strengths was not another test and that it is the readers themselves who demand more information about it on a regular basis, having gone from the pages of local sports after consolidating its competitive nature, although there are still around 20% of participants who do not do so for that purpose.

The three speakers agreed that "there will be a Route of the Fortresses until the Navy wants, because thanks to the means available to them, they will always be able to provide an additional incentive to the runners".
