Citizens accuses the PSOE of not wanting to launch a true Technical Office of Accessibility in Cartagena (05/04/2019)

"They want us to believe that a single person during working hours will be able to take responsibility for all the powers conferred by Article 6 the Accessibility Ordinance and that there is no where to take it," says the mayor of Cs Cartagena, Alfredo Nieto

Cartagena, Friday, April 5.

"We already warned it exactly one month ago: the Technical Office of Accessibility proposed by the PSOE does not exist, it is limited to specializing to a single municipal worker in the matter, to say the opposite is to be dishonest with all the groups and associations that work to improve the quality of life of people with some disability, "said Councilman Cs, Alfredo Nieto, after attending the meeting convened by the Department of Social Services with disability groups and all political groups.

The alleged office will only be composed of a specialized technician who will receive and branch all the information that reaches the municipal areas linked to accessibility problems, "if they want us to believe that a person during working hours will be responsible for all the powers conferred on him Article 6 the Accessibility Ordinance, there, but there is no where to take it and we have the obligation to tell the Cartagena that it is a monumental political farce to hide that for four years have only been able to draft a welcome participatory ordinance "

In addition, Citizens again recriminate the PSOE that has not said a single word of the main previous measure that has to be adopted to implement the accessibility policies in the municipality, "we will say it once more and the times that are needed: without updating the accessibility plan that is ten years old, without a true Technical Office, and without proposing a future multi-year investment calendar, we are not taking the first steps to really reduce the architectural barriers in Cartagena ".

For the liberal mayor, "we can already ensure that without budgets and without taking the first steps, we have wasted four years of legislature in words and promises."
