The photographer and journalist Nuria López shows her project 'Daughters of no God' in Cartagena Piensa (03/04/2019)

This Thursday, April 4, at 19:30 at the Palacio Molina, Cartagena Piensa has as a guest the documentary photographer Nuria López, who presents her multimedia project Daughters of no god, by the hand of Juan Manuel Díaz Burgos.

'Daughters of no god' is a multimedia project consisting of a 15-minute documentary and a photographic exhibition, which portrays sexual slavery in Mexico.

The project gives voice to women who since very young have been sold as sex slaves and mothers who have suffered the disappearance of their daughters.

Trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation is one of the greatest violations of Human Rights.

Photographer and journalist, Nuria López Torres was trained at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia and the IDEP School of Image and Design in Barcelona. She focuses her work on topics related to the world of women, identities, violence and sexualities. .

He tackles the topics from social anthropology and converts some of his works into photographic essays.

He is a member of the GEA PHOTOWORDS photographers, writers and journalists organization.

Author of the book Sex and Revolution in Cuba.

She combines her personal projects with the collaboration as a freelance photographer in national and international media such as El País, Interviú, Yo Dona, Marie Claire, Le Monde, CNN, Al-Jazeera, La Vanguardia, The Sunday Business Post, GQ, GatoPardo, Terra Mater and GEO among others.

He has obtained several awards among which we can mention the Photography Prize of the II International Audiovisual Arts Festival of Andalusia, finalist in LensCulture Portrait Awards, Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards Portrait, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, honorable mention at Moscow International Photo Awards.

His work is part of collections such as the Isonomía Foundation of the Jaume I University of Castellón and the Visible Foundation of Contemporary Art.
