'Cartagena Piensa en San Antón' organizes the conference'More medicine is more health? ', Within the cycle'Conditions of life, medicine, and health' (27/03/2019)

This Thursday, March 28, at the Casino de San Antón from 6pm, the talk "More medicine is more health?" Will be given by Abel Novoa Jurado.

The speaker is a family doctor of the Emergency Service of the Hospital Morales Meseguer and president of the NoGracias platform, which is part of the program of conferences organized by the City of Cartagena, "Cartagena Piensa en San Antón" and the cycle "Living conditions , Medicine and health".

One of the most widespread ideas is that, the more public health services, the better the health of people and that the best used public money is that which goes to health.

Faced with this thought, unknowns arise as to whether this is always the case or if there are other ways of investing in health.

Abel Novoa is president of the NoGracias Foundation since November 2013, family doctor, doctor of medicine, master in bioethics and has dedicated important studies to the new paradigms of health and medicine.

He is a professional with initiative, very committed to the defense of the right to health, equity and transparency.

In addition, in the blog of the platform he presides we can read the depth of his analysis on current issues and related to medicines and health technologies.

The Platform No Thanks, which was publicly presented in May 2008, is a non-profit civil association whose ultimate goal is to promote and promote a democratic health system and at the service of society, that is, a public health system , sustainable and based on transparency and the best scientific knowledge.

The activity of the platform is based on the cooperative and participative work of its partners, through an articulation of a network, formal and informal, of people, associations, institutions, etc .;

with the objective of mobilizing citizens, generating informed opinion and influencing decision makers and legislators to achieve their goals and objectives.

The talk is included in the "Living conditions, medicine and health" cycle of the Cartagena Piensa program, of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.

In this cycle, the conferences "Conditions of Life and Health" have been held, by Mario Soler Torroja;

and "Polymedication: When Less is More", by the doctors Xania de Casas Fernández and Carmen Pérez-Crespo Gómez, from the Health Center of San Antón.
