The Resurrexit opens the acts of the confraternities in Lent (18/03/2019)

On Saturday, March 16, the acts that each year celebrate the brotherhoods on the occasion of the celebration of Holy Week, with the most important liturgical act of the Brotherhood of the Risen One: the Resurrexit.

It was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes, who proposed that the processionists destine their alms of Lent to Caritas.

The Church of Santa María de Gracia dressed up to welcome the first great act of Lent in Cartagena.

This year, the Resurrexit has celebrated its twentieth edition.

This event is organized by the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Resurrected.

Processionists, civil and military authorities, representatives of public institutions and residents of Cartagena gathered at the event.

The brother of the Brotherhood, Ramón Pérez Saura, was the host of the ceremony. He took office last October, replacing Bernardo Simó.

As usual in this liturgical act, the sculpture of Our Father Jesus Resurrected was on the main altar of the Church of Santa María de Gracia.

On his left was the carving of the Virgin of Beautiful Love.

The mass was developed around the figure of the Lord.

The first part was dedicated to the readings of the second Sunday of Lent, the Transfiguration.

In the second part of the liturgy, the Easter Psalm was interpreted, that of the Victory, 'This is the day'.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, among other authorities.
