Manuel Padín "PSOE and PP have shown for decades that Isla Plana and La Azohía are not among their priorities" (17/03/2019)

Cartagena, Sunday, March 17.

Despite the fact that Ciudadanos achieved in the June 2018 plenary session that the City Council requested the cession of the Santa Elena Tower in La Azohía to the Demarcation of Coasts and offer its management to cultural and neighborhood groups in the area, the local government through the mayor of Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, "recognized at the last plenary, happily and without complexes, the complete inaction and lack of will of the PSOE to execute the proposal".

Cs presented the proposal after becoming aware that the Demarcation of Coasts would be willing to grant this assignment to the City Council and to previously undertake the necessary work to establish the security measures required to make the Tower of Santa Elena visitable.

"The appointment of the new head of the Demarcation of Coasts, Daniel Caballero, has not served, and even less to promote essential projects for the Cartagena coast."

In the same situation are the Baños de la Marrana and the archaeological site of Los Tinteros in Isla Plana, the Municipal Group moved last year to its regional deputies the need to promote the project for restoration and rehabilitation.

The spokesman of Cs Cartagena recalled that there is a project to enhance the area made many years ago for the restoration of the baths but today Coastal Demarcation remains silent, and has refused (both with the PP and with the PSOE in the central government) to reserve an economic game to address it, "the two-party system has endeavored to demonstrate that this area of Cartagena can not count on them."

On the other hand, Citizens has reminded that it remains pending to give green light the transfer of the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of the Demarcation of Coasts to the city of Cartagena, "it is a reasonable, sensible and necessary option, that undoubtedly goes in the line of our plan to turn Cartagena into the Mediterranean capital of the blue economy, our city can not settle for a mere office of Costas, the new head of Demarcation of Coasts must give an answer to this transfer already, because Cartagena does not want to wait more, "says the orange spokesman.

Other issues

On the monumental delay of the regional government of the PP with the five spas of the Mar Menor, Manuel Padin warns that his Municipal Group "will monitor very closely that the Community meets the new date that has given to start working this March; let's admit more delays. "

These structures will be in Punta Brava, Los Urrutias and Estrella de Mar. On the other hand, the Dantesque state of Villas Caravaning beach, the investment planned to repair the coast batteries of Cartagena, the cleaning of dead mud and algae, the creation of canine beaches, the regulation of civil weddings on the beaches that have brought important benefits to San Javier, and the regulation of beach bars, "are some of the projects and needs that neighbors suffer due to incompetence and lack of coordination of PP and PSOE ", recriminates Manuel Padín.

Finally, the orange training spokesman considers it vital to improve administrative coordination in the management of the coast where the State, the Community and the City Council are involved and to really encourage coordination spaces, agreements and update and create new protocols for collaborative action
