Cs asks the City Council to have AUVE for the installation of the 5 charging points for electric vehicles (13/03/2019)

- This agreement will serve to prevent the PSOE or any other party in power from May, including Citizens, from taking initiatives on electric mobility "in a state of complete disinformation, as has done so far the Socialist Executive", argues the spokesperson for Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín

Cartagena, Wednesday, March 13-.

Citizens will propose at the next regular plenary session that the Government of Cartagena establish a collaboration protocol with the Association of Users of Electric Vehicles (AUVE) to promote electric mobility in Cartagena, as recently signed at the City of Murcia.

The purpose of the protocol will be to establish channels of collaboration for the joint realization of activities related to the promotion of this type of transport, "this agreement will serve to prevent the PSOE or any other party in power from May, including Citizens, can initiate initiatives on electric mobility in a state of complete misinformation as has done so far the Socialist Executive, "said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padin, who explains that one of the points of agreement between the Government of Murcia and AUVE is precisely to grant a relevant role to this group in everything related to the implementation of actions related to the electric vehicle. "This protocol, Cs intended, should be the prelude to future specific agreements where the contributions of both parties for the development of the various actions.

Failed pilot test

Citizens publicly denounced that the only two charging points for electric vehicles that the City Council has installed in Cartagena have not worked, at least since last Friday until today.

The orange training invited the Association of Users of Electric Vehicles (AUVE) last Friday to visit the city and evaluate along with Cs the status of this "pilot test" that began operating last November.

Neither the AUVE delegate in Murcia, Javier Martínez nor any other member of the association could charge his electric car on any of the recharging posts despite being duly registered in the Town Hall registry.

The recharging points are located in the main access of the Tourism Office of the Plaza Puertas de San José, and in front of the Youth House of the Paseo Alfonso XIII.

Now, as reported by the newspaper La Opinion and as a response to the complaint of Cs, the PSOE Government happily announces that the test has been a success (even if it does not work) and that they plan to install five new recharging points in La Manga (two), in the central pavilion, in the Ronda de La Unión street, in the vicinity of the UNED, in the Plaza del Escudo, in the Alameda de San Antón, and near the Perpetuo Socorro hospital.

"If they intend to repeat the system that has failed in the pilot test, we will only be able to extend the waste of public money, so that the protocol of collaboration with the AUVE is presented as absolutely necessary."

Difficult record

According to Cs, the PSOE government should also reorient the registration system to make it easier, allow access to vehicles on behalf of a company and if possible find a compatible system with those that work in most cities.

The plenary agreement of Cs

Cs also claims full compliance with its motion of June 2017, "which included tax incentives, the modification of ordinances to promote that each newly constructed building had the necessary infrastructure to enable recharging and that free parking was allowed in the regulated parking areas for all vehicles with zero emission card, the one issued by the Traffic Department, and the issuance of a card to make it possible.
