SABIC celebrates International Women's Day by boosting the visibility of its workers thanks to its equal opportunities policies (08/03/2019)

SABIC Cartagena celebrates International Women's Day with a program that actively promotes the visibility of the many cases of success and female leadership in the company as a result of the policies of equality and diversity that it has been applying for some time.

SABIC with 20% of women in its workforce of 750 workers, has a long history of commitment to equality applied to its recruitment and selection processes, training, salary policy and conciliation measures that are transmitted to all employees.

Proof of this is that it has 15 women who occupy key positions in the industrial complex of Cartagena.

Today SABIC has collaborated in an internal event of Navantia, with the participation of Mahue Sánchez, European Head of the Strategy and Investment Planning Department of Corporate Manufacturing of SABIC in Europe and a clear example of female professional growth in the company due to its evolution and participation in the creation of some of these policies.

Sánchez, Industrial Engineer in the branch of Industrial Chemistry, has shared with the assistants his reflections on his 20 years of experience in the company, in which he has gone through several positions of increasing responsibility and level, leading to lead in different periods the three production plants of the industrial complex.

During her speech, she has also shared her experiences in different platforms and initiatives of equality and inclusion of SABIC, such as the association 'SABIC Women Network', a global network of professional women dedicated to developing the female talent of SABIC the company, offering opportunities to women, facilitating access to models to follow and setting in motion a system of women's tutelage that helps them prosper and advance their careers.

Sanchez has participated for many years as a member of the negotiating team of the Collective Agreement & Labor Relations for SABIC workers, and has been part of the Equality Commission of the company whose objective has been to develop an Equality Plan to provide a set of measures that help to achieve, promote and promote real equality of treatment and opportunities between women and men, eliminating discrimination based on sex.

SABIC also supports the application of a series of measures aimed at equal professional development, expands permits and licenses and offers a series of social benefits that contribute to women working in optimal conditions and progress in their careers as Sánchez has done. and many of her companions.
