Manufacturing of large-scale pieces through 3D printing, virtual recreation of spaces with great precision or application of immersive technologies such as virtual reality for the development of complex architectural projects are just some examples of how new technologies are changing the sector of construction and infrastructures.

Knowing the real impact of all of them is the main objective of the Campus of the Network of Chairs of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) held on March 14.

Alejandro Díaz, Rector of the UPCT, Javier Celdrán, Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, and Antonio González, director of the Seneca Foundation, have presented the details of this initiative that is in its third edition and will bring together researchers, professionals and some of the main companies that work in these fields.

Through the experience of each of them will review the different practical applications they have and how they are changing methods of work and materials.

The heads of the innovation and technology departments of companies such as Aldesa, Sabic and Ferrovial, along with architectural studios such as Clavel Arquitectos, the president of the Regional Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs (FRECOM), Luis Fernández or entrepreneurs who have been able to take advantage of the potential of these new techniques as the Xyze or Bones 3D Printed Concret boosters will be some of the speakers.

"We want our graduates to keep in touch with us so that they are informed of the entire offer of official training and ongoing training, so that they continue to use the resources of our university and to form part of a network of contacts in the productive fabric that facilitate their employability and help them in their professional development ", Alejandro Díaz explained.

In addition, within the framework of the campus, the prizes will be awarded to the best end-of-degree and master's degree projects developed by UPCT students and a photogrammetry workshop will be held.

The day will be held in the Auditorium of the UPCT from 9.30 to 13.30 and will have the collaboration of the Seneca Foundation-Agency of Science and Technology of the Region of Murcia.
