'Pescados con Arte' II will show the marine reserve of Cabo de Palos and the marine gastronomy of Cartagena (06/03/2019)

The Pesca II with Art II project of the Columbares Association organizes this month of March in Cartagena two activities in collaboration with the City of Cartagena: the educational itineraries Marine biodiversity and artisanal fishing and the day From the sea to the table.

Both activities will include a tour of the fishing port and the coastline of Cabo de Palos.

In addition, the itineraries will have a storyteller to bring the youngest to artisanal fishing, while the days will culminate with a gastronomic workshop at the La Bocana Restaurant.

The educational itineraries Marine Biodiversity and Artisanal Fishing will take place on March 20 and 27 in Cabo de Palos, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

These are free activities aimed at pupils of 5th and 6th grade of schools in the municipality of Cartagena.

To participate, it is essential that the interested educational centers make prior registration through the form that is provided on the website of the entity.

The day From the sea to the table will be held on March 23 in Cabo de Palos, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is aimed at families (children as of 10 years old). Also free of charge, places will be assigned by strict order of registration, which must be done through the form provided on the website of the entity (registration deadline: Wednesday, March 20).

Pescados con Arte II is an initiative of the Asociación Columbares and the Association of Artisanal Fishermen of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park (PESCARTES) to inform the public of the social, environmental, cultural and gastronomic value of the fishery captured from artisanal form in the Murcian-Almerian coast and promote the consumption of sustainable fishing products.

The project has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, through the High Water Program, co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, in collaboration with the University of Murcia, the Amureco Association and Fornet.

Pescados con Arte II contributes to achieving the objectives of the LIFE IP INTEMARES project "Integrated, innovative and participatory management of the Natura 2000 Network in the Spanish marine environment".
