More than 1,600 young people receive ITINERE training workshops to improve their future employment (26/02/2019)

More than 1,600 young people are participating in the III edition of ITINERE.

This day is organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena and the Agency for Local Development and Employment for unemployed youth.

The aim is to give them tools for their future work.

This year, ITINERE focuses on training as a way to find work.

The day was held on Tuesday February 26 at the Auditorium and Congress Center El Batel de Cartagena., And have had the visit of the Councilor for Youth, David Martinez, and the mayor of Economic Strategy of Cartagena, Carmen Martín.

Also present was the Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities of the Region of Murcia, Violante Tomás, as well as the councilors of the municipal corporation, Manuel Padín and Pilar Marcos.

During the day, ITINERE assistants can receive information and advice to improve their chances of finding a job.

"The idea of ​​these days is, in a work situation that is so difficult for young people, to find formulas so they can find a job," said the mayor of Youth, David Martinez.

There are 32 different activities scheduled between workshops, training courses, meetings with companies, informative sessions of programs for young people, demonstrations or recreational activities.

800 places are offered in 23 workshops to work on competence, skills and resources to improve employability.

In this program 12 companies participate in informal meetings with young people to know their processes and personnel needs.

2 Master Class are also being carried out.

In them, they will share experiences with great professionals.

One of them in the field of cooking, with chefs Mariam Porras and Diego Laso, and the other in the field of new professions associated with new technologies, with Francisco Maturana, BBVA's Digital Transformation Strategy Advisor.

In addition, a motivational Plenary Session is included in the activities, where Isabel Iglesias will transfer the keys to become the ideal candidate that companies are looking for.

A workshop on Improvisation and Creativity is also being developed, guided by Javier Soto, who will present new ways of facing job search.

The workshops and stands of ITINERE are focused this year on improving the training of young people.

"We help them, for example, in something as basic as having a good updated curriculum and that when they arrive at a company they do good job interviews.

We are also training them on the subject of languages ​​", points out the Councilor for Youth of Cartagena, David Martínez.

The mayor of the Youth area also recalled that the City of Cartagena has more support services for young people.

"We are carrying out the program of return of talents to Cartagena or the program Expeura - for professional experiences in Europe -.

Both in the Department of Youth and the Agency for Local Development and Employment and the hand of the SEF, we try to improve employment in Cartagena.

During the day there is a large number of attendees who have been interested in attending the Auditorium and Palacio de Congresos El Batel to witness the workshops and stands of all collaborating institutions at ITINERE.

In addition to the Department of Youth and the Agency for Local Development and Employment of Cartagena, are present: Regional Employment and Training Service, Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), Institute of Qualifications of the Region of Murcia (ICUAM), Center European Business and Innovation of Cartagena (CEEIC), Eurodesk / Europe Direct, National Reference Center of Vocational Training of the SEF or the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena (COEC).

Also present are the Carlos III training centers, CIFP Hespérides, CIFP Hostelería y Turismo de Cartagena, IES Politécnico and the San Juan Bosco Salesianos Center.

Likewise, the Columbares and Rascasa Associations and the Sierra Minera Foundation participate.
