Auditors, Secretaries and Treasurers request that their professional category be valued (20/02/2019)

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has held a meeting this morning with the president of the College of Auditors, Secretaries and Treasurers of the Region, Maravillas Abadía, in which she has expressed her displeasure at the refusal of the Cartagena Plenary to approve the salary comparison of the municipal officials who hold such positions with the national ones.

In this sense, Abadía has offered to meet with the representatives of the other political groups to explain the importance of equating the positions and salaries of the positions of auditor, secretary, treasurer and director of the Municipal Government Office with the national qualified, since there is an evident relationship between the specific complements assigned to these officials that, when not properly assessed, makes these places deserted.

On the other hand, Castejón has explained to him that he has tried on two occasions that the rest of the groups support this initiative without success.

Abadía stressed that this is a situation "sought and illegal" that seeks to vacant places, which has its judgment is a decline in democratic quality.

Finally, the president of the College has informed the mayor that her agency will hold the National Congress in the Region next year 2020 and the first mayor has offered Cartagena as the venue for the event.
