The Department of Youth has presented today at a press conference the new program 'Return of Talent to Cartagena', a plan promoted by Citizens in 2018 that is aimed at young people between 18 and 34 years who were born, lived or studied in Cartagena, as well as emigrants currently in another country, who want to return and develop a project of their own in Cartagena.

Through a technological platform, which has also been presented today, and with the advice of specialized counselors, connection processes will be established between young migrants from Cartagena who want to return to the business fabric of the city that can benefit from the talent of those young boys.

Today's press conference was attended by Juan Desmonts, the first executive of DosFarma.com, a pharmacy and online parapharmacy of international reference settled in the Cabezo Beaza polygon and the first person 'returned' that has been hired by this company through the program, "that this system is already producing results even before its official presentation is a reason of pride for our Municipal Group", said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padin, who congratulated the technical team of the Youth Council, "They have been involved in an extraordinary way to develop the plan, and have dedicated many hours of work to get it off the air; Return of Talent is a good example of how the political opposition and the municipal Executive can also establish constructive and collaboration".

Citizens have learned that a new contract is being finalized in Cartagena, and that the company awarded the contract, Local Initiatives, has established contact with 130 job profiles abroad, of which 55 have already expressed their interest in participating in the program .

In addition, the City Council has presented the website retornoacartagena.es that is called to be a focus of attraction between jobseekers and job seekers.

On the web you can find job counseling, employment opportunities, advice on return procedures, related news, or experiences of returnees, among other issues.

In addition, this space will favor contact between young professionals and local companies that demand talent.

In 2018 Cs allocated 30,000 euros to the program from the municipal budget "and of course we will ensure its necessary continuity, with another similar item for 2019," says the orange spokesman.

According to Manuel Padín, "we wanted to implement this proposal in Cartagena because in Cs we believe that the return of talent is positive for the economy, a program that has proven to be very effective in other Spanish municipalities in which it has generated many hiring opportunities. completed work teams in the companies and has promoted the internationalization and the entrepreneurial vocation of the territory ".

"This talent, full of experience and new ideas, should contribute to the productivity and competitiveness of Cartagena's companies," said Padín, who recalls that "there is also a huge social dimension that is important for us and that has to do with family reunification. and the recovery of these people's link with Cartagena. "

In the Region, few municipalities have undertaken the drafting of a program of these characteristics, "and we believe that it is exportable to other municipalities, so we made a few months ago a meeting with the Young Citizens platform to take note of the details of this plan and could suggest it in their respective town halls.
