Cartagena firefighters evacuate two walkers in Cala Boletes (11/02/2019)

In the day of this Sunday, February 10th, the Firemen of the Service of Fire and Rescue Extinction (SEIS) of the City of Cartagena attended several important incidents, among which is the rescue of two hikers and two traffic accidents in the region.

At 12:37 hours the Emergency Coordination Center received calls informing that a hiker had suffered a fall and had a sprain in his right foot in Cala del Bolete.

After ascertaining their exact position, they went to the scene of the incident Firemen and Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena, as well as physicians of Emergency Management 061 and patrols of the Civil Guard, who requested the evacuation by air of the hiker, given the difficulty of walking access to the place where they are and the need for healthcare.

He was evacuated in a helicopter of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies with firefighters rescuers from the Aerial Rescue Group of the Consortium for the Extinction of Fire and Rescue of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) to the Santa Lucia hospital.

A little later, they received the notice of another person in the same area, specifically on the GR92 trail, which had also suffered a sprain and was rescued from the site in a light vehicle belonging to Cartagena Firefighters.

They also attended two traffic accidents, one of them occurred around 12 noon at the exit of the N301, specifically at Km438 at the height of Santa Ana, with a wounded person.

The second occurred, this time on the E-22 highway in Carteras, in which a vehicle went off the track.

The Firemen had to assist the two people traveling inside, a young man and woman, seriously injured.

In addition to the aforementioned services, Cartagena Firefighters also intervened in two vehicle fires, the first of them near 22:00 in the night on the road of La Aljorra and the second of them in the Lesser Islands around 23 hours.

In both services a heavy pump intervened with a crew of 6 firemen.
