Equality sets in motion the new program of the campaign "If you feel drowned is not love" (07/02/2019)

Councilman Equality, David Martinez, presented on Thursday, January 7 in the press room of the Palace Hall the new program of the campaign "IF YOU FEEL DROUGHT IS NOT LOVE" in collaboration with professionals such as the Collective Galactyco, Vdreams or the Association R-Inicia-T.

The campaign focuses on supporting secondary schools in the municipality of Cartagena in the development of proposals that promote equality between women and men and the prevention of gender-based violence through awareness-raising and prevention actions and work towards the eradication of violence against women. the Macho Violence.

In this edition, also, aims to create social awareness also in the general public by advertising on billboards, buses and canopies.

The specific objectives of the campaign, in addition to sensitizing the younger population to the need to eradicate gender violence, are:

- Make them aware of their existence even in the closest environments as a mainly social and not an individual problem.

- Identify attitudes and thoughts that reproduce roles or beliefs based on stereotypes that condition behaviors that maintain inequality topics.

- Spread the values ​​of equality, empathy and respect in affective relationships among young people.

- Publicize the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), located in the Department of Equality, among the youngest both victims and those who detect this type of abuse behavior in their immediate environment, as well as the emergency resource 112.

The workshops are characterized by a playful and participatory nature encouraging everyone to share their thoughts and thoughts.

Each year, there are more students that host the program, being a total of 6300 in the last edition of 2018, compared to 1900 in 2016 and 2036 in 2017.

More and more educational centers are requesting the delivery of these workshops and that is why in the 2019-2020 academic year, which will start in October, there will be more professionals to attend to the new needs.

This growth that also undergoes the advertising campaign is supported by the Distribution of Funds to the City Councils of the State Pact against Gender Violence.

With the help of the Government team to be able to include improvements in the program, the number of attentions to female victims in the CAVI has been increased as a result of the greater dissemination among young people, a therapy and support group with girls from among 14 and 19 years in the Department of Equality and has achieved greater visibility of the Awareness and Prevention Program with greater social awareness.

The poster has been designed by Josefina Montero, as on previous occasions, which aims to generate an emotional impact and distinguish healthy love from the oppression and control of many relationships.

The posters will be distributed by the IES and street furniture and wristbands will also be distributed with the slogan of the campaign 'If you feel drowned is not love', as well as stickers for public buildings, health centers, etc.

with slogans against gender violence in favor of equality.

Finally, a Forum Theater will be held by La Murga Teatro together with professionals specialized in gender violence, in which young people will have the opportunity to reflect on sexist violence and its mechanisms of action, preventing and sensitizing in values ​​of equality.
