Catalina González Vilar shares'Las lágrimas de Naracuyá' with the young people of the Intercultural Centers (07/02/2019)

Last Wednesday, February 6, the second meeting of authors took place, in which the Intercultural Youth Centers participated with the writer Catalina González Vilar, author of the work "Las Lágrimas de Naraguyá".

The meeting, which took place in the Casco Antíguo Intercultural Center, was attended by 30 young people belonging to the reading committees of the Intercultural Centers.

As every school year, the Intercultural Centers participate in the program of promotion of reading promoted by the Youth Council "Mandarache".

The young people asked the author questions, highlighting topics such as adventure, botany, or knowledge of different cultures and values ​​such as friendship.

After the questions was the turn of signing autographs and final photo and, to end the afternoon, the young men gave the writer a case made by themselves with the cover of his book.

The Intercultural Centers for Youth are a resource belonging to the Immigration Unit of the Department of Social Services.

Through educational leisure workshops and study support, children under 9 years of age are worked through a program aimed at promoting respect for cultural diversity, tolerance, empathy, solidarity and all those values ​​necessary for their sociopersonal development.

This meeting of the writer with readers is part of the meetings as a finalist for the Hache - Mandarache Award that began on Wednesday morning in the Auditorium of the UPCT and will continue this Thursday at the school of La Vaguada and the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation.
