Hundreds of citizens tasted more than 250 pieces of traditional bread in the Plaza de San Francisco (04/02/2019)

Artisan bakers from different Spanish provinces offered a demonstration and free tasting of traditional breads, made with different varieties of wheat, respecting the fermentation processes and without improvers.

Hundreds of citizens participated in this activity, which was held in the Plaza de San Francisco.

In it they could follow the explanations of how the dough is prepared and try the more than 250 pieces of half a kilo, of each of the varieties that were baked, such as Galician bread, pumpkin, carob and orange, water sea, tritordeum and oat flakes and whole spelled, as well as focaccias, threads and moñas.

Antonio G. Blanch, J. Carlos Morente and Óscar Sorribes, all of them from Castellón;

Vicente Chaparro, from Valencia;

Carlos Sesplugues, from Huesca and Pencho Otón, from Cartagena, were in charge of carrying out this demonstration.

They make up the association Despancito, organizer of the event and whose purpose is to disseminate the production of quality bread through traditional slow-fermenting mother masses.

The demonstration took place in a tent that facilitated the Department of Commerce of the City of Cartagena, whose councilor, Carmen Martín del Amor also attended.

It took place between ten in the morning and two thirty in the afternoon, when all the pieces were sold out.

The oven, the fermentor and the mixer, so that everything was in its place, were facilitated by the companies Salva Industrial, of San Sebastián
