National Police and Civil Guard detain the alleged perpetrators of four robberies perpetrated in gas stations (30/01/2019)

The vehicle used in one of the robberies suffered an accident and was abandoned to its fate.

In its interior, effects used in other criminal acts were recovered

One of the robbers had taken advantage of a prison permit to commit the robberies and not re-enter prison once the permit had been granted.

Agents of the Civil Guard and the National Police have proceeded to arrest two men of Spanish nationality, aged 26 and 39, as alleged perpetrators of four crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation with a knife in service stations.

The robberies were perpetrated in Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Pedro del Pinatar and San Javier throughout the past month of December.

In addition, they are charged with a robbery with force and a legal claim for breach of sentence.

One of the robberies occurred at a gas station located on the La Union highway.

Two individuals entered using white arms and covering their faces to prevent identification, one with a ski mask and another with a motorcycle helmet, and after threatening and intimidating the workers stolen the computer and the cash register with the collection of the day.

The vehicle in which they fled abandoned him after suffering an accident

For the commission of this robbery, the two individuals used a vehicle that, after police pressure and suffering an accident, abandoned and fled.

The effects intervened in the car were identified to have been committed in other criminal acts, and among them were various clothing items, the motorcycle helmet after which one of the detainees tried to hide his face from the cameras and from the victims to those that intimidated to avoid being identified, and another series of objects that served the agents for the clarification of the four crimes.

From the moment the events occurred, the agents initiated an investigation to identify the alleged perpetrators and relate the effects recovered in the vehicle to other criminal acts.

Finally, it could be clarified that the detainees had committed three robberies in different locations three days before: San Pedro de Pinatar, San Javier and Los Alcázares, fully agreeing in all of them the modus operandi.

In some of the robberies came to wield axes to intimidate local employees.

Extensive criminal experience

Detainees have numerous records of similar events and have extensive criminal experience.

In addition, one of them had an order to enter prison for not having re-entered, after a prison permit, the prison of Estremera, where he served time.

The police operation has been carried out by agents of the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of San Javier and agents of the Group IV of the Judicial Police of the National Police Station of Cartagena.
