This Tuesday, January 29, has been the inauguration of the V ordinary congress of the union of public employees SIME in the Auditorium and Conference Center El Batel, which has been attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, as a guest.
During the congress, the new components of the Regional Coordinating Commission, the new regional coordinator and the new commission composed of representatives of the different public bodies and town councils of the Region are elected.
The current general coordinator, Ángel Sanandrés López, is presented again as the only candidate to continue another 4 years.
It has also been debated to establish the strategic lines of the union and issues related to the statutes and regulations, the union strategy and the economic report have been discussed.
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has been proud that the city of Cartagena hosts this fifth congress of the SIME, an increasingly larger union and that every time has a more important role in the tables of Government helping to consolidate everything related with the municipal workers.
Representatives of other unions at a national level from up to 8 Autonomous Communities such as Navarra, La Rioja, Madrid and the Canary Islands have also attended the event, as well as the platform on which they are working together with all of them, the 'Interterritoral Coordinator of Employees Public. '
Founded in 1997, SIME is a social and progressive workers' organization with around 2,000 members.
It has representation in 20 municipalities of the Region of Murcia such as Cartagena, Murcia, Torre Pacheco, Mazarrón or Águilas, and with three union sections of universities and foundations.
