CTSSP: "After more than four years of delay, the PSOE presents a regulatory proposal for the taxi that will not solve the problems of the public service" (26/01/2019)

Francisco Martinez, Councilman of Cartagena Yes Can It (CTSSP), states that the socialist municipal government of the PSOE, in a sample of disability, finally presents, AFTER MORE THAN FOUR YEARS.

a proposal to adapt the General Regulations of the Taxi to Law 10/2014 of the Region of Murcia.

A term that according to the provisions of the law expired on December 22, 2015.

For the mayor of Podemos, the proposal made by the PSOE to the Finance Committee, which will meet next Monday, looks more to protect the speculation of the transmission of licenses than for innovation, the rights of users and workers and workers in the sector.

Next, Francisco Martínez enumerates the aspects of those that suffers the proposal or are insufficiently regulated:

1º.- No criteria are established to calculate the optimal number of licenses needed by the municipality.

2º.- It is not guaranteed that the municipality has a minimum number of taxis adapted to meet the people who require it.

3º.- The transfer of municipal licenses is allowed, which should only be authorized in very exceptional cases and duly justified.

On the contrary, it is expected to compensate the holders for the amortization of licenses, thus materializing the unjustified transfer of a public good and against authorizing a possible municipal outlay to alleviate the risk that should be allowed by any private business activity.

4th.- There is no access or training system that fully guarantees that the service is provided with the appropriate technological and security resources.

5º.- There is no clear commitment to ecological vehicles that respect the environment.

6º.- It is left in the air, at the discretion of the municipal government, important decisions such as work schedule, vacations, working day, etc., which may cause conflicts in the future.

7 .- The sanctions provided for breaches are only in economic amount without there being a full guarantee, that in extreme cases the city can revoke the license for the accumulation of very serious faults.

Which can pose a risk or helplessness for users.

In summary, for the formation of dwellings, the municipal government is missing a new opportunity to improve the service it provides and the precarious conditions of the workers in the sector.
