Citizens insist on reconfiguring the Employment Plan to include the Blue Economy as one of its strategic lines (26/01/2019)

- "We must group in a strategic line an economic sector of great potential in Cartagena, only an overview as recommended by the European Union can make our municipality a benchmark of blue growth," said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín

- The proposal of Cs would merge the lines of Aquaculture and Fishing and Nautical Sector, and add other sectors such as renewable energy, marine gastronomy, cruise tourism, blue biotechnology

Citizens do not surrender and will defend the need to reconfigure the Strategic Plan to include the transversal concept of Economy or Blue Growth at the next Employment Roundtable on February 14.

It was one of the star proposals of the orange training for the plan that was finally rejected by the Socialist Executive, "the excuse given to us was that this sector was already contemplated in two lines, which refers to aquaculture, and another on the nautical and fishing sector, but saying that is not understanding at all what the Blue Economy means, which includes many other sectors such as marine renewable energies, blue gastronomy, maritime transport, coastal tourism, marine biotechnology, naval repairs , integrated maritime surveillance or the mining exploitation of the seabed, our concept is precisely the expansive interrelation of all these sectors linked to the sea as a driving force of innovation and economy, and not the reductionist and mistaken vision that the PSOE has ".

The Cs spokesperson suspects that "the real reason for his rejection was that including this strategic line then forced to restructure a very high percentage of the Strategic Plan of Employment since they would have to reorient two already existing lines and that would have delayed the signing of the plan that was being much demanded at that time by employers, unions and political groups. "

Manuel Padín believes that a plan like this should not be something hermetic and closed but a living and flexible text, "therefore, with the previous acquiescence of the members of the table, we have suggested a modification that also complements perfectly the plenary agreement we managed to move forward to promote the creation of a fleet of companies in the Port linked to the blue economy, if we do not have an integrated vision of these sectors linked to the sea, we will not be the reference we want Cartagena to be ".

In spite of everything, the orange training has announced that if it does not get enough support it is preparing a proposal so that a specific plan linked to this economy is written, "it is another way of including this economic vision in future modifications of the employment plan, something that will undoubtedly strengthen our economic engine and our ability to generate wealth and employment ", concludes Padín.

Finally, Citizens regretted that PP, MC and CTSSP-Podemos have not wanted to incorporate any suggestion, "it is disheartening that these parties have disregarded a Strategic Plan that will inspire in the next years our way to generate jobs and boost our productive fabric, instead of working on this have chosen to stand by and feed artificial polemics with an eye on the election year of 2019, Citizens do not understand the political opposition well, due control and control always add a constructive work and of colaboration".

Cs transferred his discomfort to the CEEIC

Citizens have expressed their discomfort that regional events related to the Blue Economy in Cartagena are not carried out, "I think it is nonsense for the regional government of the PP, I understand that the right place for all these movements should be in Cartagena, and not a municipality of interior ", maintains Padín.

In this sense, Padín has informed that his Municipal Group is already working so that the next events that take place around this concept are organized by the CEEIC of Cartagena, "we believe it is vital that the Cartagena center be the leader in the development of this economic strategy. "
