We can denounce that the Autonomous Community is letting the schools of Cartagena "fall apart" (18/01/2019)

After meeting with the FAPA, the purple formation will require the City Council to report on the deadlines for the development of projects, by the consistory, for the removal of asbestos covers of four public schools in Cartagena.

From Podemos inform that after the meeting with the president of the FAPA, Paqui Galindo, and the secretary of the same, Marina González, note that public education in Cartagena is totally devalued and abandoned by the Ministry of Education of the CARM .

The mothers and fathers of the public schools only obtain promises that later are not fulfilled by the Regional Government, denounce from Podemos Cartagena.

Removal of asbestos roofs, the necessary extensions that are supplemented with barracks, the shade plan, the air conditioning of the classrooms, the maintenance and conservation of the schools and institutes so that they do not fall to the ground, the renovation of the furniture ... These and many more are the urgent needs of most of the primary and secondary schools of the municipality, and since Podemos denounce that practically no action is taken by the Regional Government of the PP, in more than one hundred public schools of Cartagena

Regarding the removal of asbestos roofs, PODEMOS has verified that in 2018 the Regional Government did not invest one euro in any of the 30 educational centers of Cartagena with the presence of asbestos in its facilities.

And in this year 2019, they have only budgeted the removal of the roofs of four schools: José María Lapuerta, Feliciano Sánchez, Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores, and Santa Florentina de El Algar, as well as the roof of the IES Elcano pavilion.

For this, continues Podemos, the City Council and the CARM have reached an agreement for the Consistory, through the Department of Education, to carry out the technical projects of the removal of fiber cement roofs, before the execution of the work by part of the Ministry of Education.

Therefore, from CTSSP-PODEMOS will ask at the next Plenary what are the deadlines for the preparation of these projects, and from which department and with which technicians will be written them.

The municipal group has also criticized the abandonment of responsibilities by the Regional Government regarding the air conditioning of schools.

According to they affirm, the new Plan of Climatización of Schools approved by the PP and Citizens, commits a total of 18,500,000 euros, and not one of these euros is going to invest in the schools of the municipality of Cartagena, in spite of the continuous complaints, course after course, of the Ampas, of the directors and directors of schools, and now also of the FAPA of Cartagena.

This is intolerable in the second municipality of the Region, and therefore from the training purple will ask the City Council for information on the regional air conditioning plan, and specifically if you have proof of schools in our municipality that have participated in audits that establish the initial diagnoses that lead to the receipt of subsidies for the air conditioning of the classrooms, so that the heat is reduced in summer and the cold in winter of the more than 100 affected centers, as FAPA has denounced. Cartagena

For We can Cartagena the responsibility of the maintenance and the care of the public centers of education rests on the two administrations, the same ones that must intervene, each one from its competitions, to look for the solution to the problems that directly affect the boys and girls of our municipality, and that year after year they see how they are abandoned, deriving the necessary budgets to maintain a public education, dignified and of quality, that are continuously transferred to the concerted or private education.
