Citizens pick up the complaint of a driving school that calls for priority in nine crossings of Cartagena (16/01/2019)

- Citizens remember that the implementation of a comprehensive plan that progressively resolves the multiple needs is still pending

Cartagena, Wednesday, January 16.

Citizens will ask at the next ordinary plenary, through a motion, the need for the City of Cartagena to revise the roads of the center of Cartagena and its neighborhoods that do not have the proper vertical horizontal signage and commit to their placement by reserving a sufficient amount in the next municipal budgets.

The local spokesman of the orange training, Manuel Padín, reported today that his group has collected the demands of the Road Training faculty of the Alameda Driving School in the Paseo Alfonso XIII, which has issued an information note in which up to nine crosses are collected dangerous where priority has not been signaled;

among others, the one located between the streets Francisco Salzillo and Carmen Conde, Valle Inclán with Carmen Conde, Antonio Machado with prolongation of Ángel Bruna, Alfonso X the Wise with Alameda de San Antón, Menorca with Greece in the neighborhood of San Ginés, Féliz Martí with Jorge Juan, Eduardo Marquina with Greece in San Ginés, Ricardo Codorniú Starico with Admiral Baldasano and Travesía Mahóin with Ciudadela Street.

The Alameda Driving School explains in its statement that the deficiencies in these routes have been observed during the circulation classes since they are part of the usual route for the training of students and maintains that "this kind of vertical signaling is essential to avoid future accidents" .

For its part, the spokesman for Citizens explained that this training center has repeatedly claimed to correct this situation without luck, "now it's up to us, and we will do it through the ordinary Plenary."

Manuel Padín explained that road safety in the municipality, "is one of our workhorses throughout the legislature and so much so that we continue to fight for the design and implementation of a comprehensive road safety plan that resolves progressively the multiple and varied needs we have. "

For Manuel Padín.

"Since 2015, neither MC nor PSOE have been able to consistently improve the road conditions in our city, there have been specific actions but it is clear that this patch is insufficient and requires a true municipal commitment."

Finally, Citizens has recalled that, pending the initiation of this plan, one of its conditions to support the 2019 budgets will be to act to increase security in the environments of the educational centers of the municipality, "it is a claim historical of thousands of fathers and mothers and we are going to give due answer to him although the PSOE does not even recognize that there is no problem ".
