Citizens and the FAPA of Cartagena demand the immediate implementation of the school nursing program in the municipality (02/01/2019)

- The local spokesman of the orange formation, Manuel Padín, and the new president of the Federation of Associations of Mothers and Fathers, Paqui Galindo, met today at the Ribera de San Javier street venue to analyze the main educational needs in Cartagena

The spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, met today with the new president of the FAPA, Paqui Galindo, and the secretary of the Federation, Marina González, at the headquarters of this organization in Ribera de San Javier street;

Galindo is also the representative of the parents in the School Council and in the Primary Schooling Commission.

Some of the objectives that have been set are to increase the level of accessibility of the public centers of Cartagena, the increase of training for parents, the increase of open classrooms, the optimization of coordination among the 74 federated regions, the creation of workshops related to first aid and the effective implementation of school nursing in nursery schools, colleges and institutes of the municipality.

In this sense, the orange spokesman has reported that the SMS continues to discriminate without justification to the municipality of Cartagena to not allocate any school nurse, "a claim that we have already moved to our Group in the Regional Assembly and we hope it will serve to In the coming months, the first school nurses will be incorporated into health centers in the Cartagena area. "

From the Federation have informed today that soon they will adhere to the Platform for School Nursing at the national level.

The orange training reports that at this moment there are only nine nurses in health centers associated by proximity to educational centers, three in Murcia and one in Lorca, Jumilla, Mazarrón, San Javier, Águilas, Lorquí and Ceutí, "it is a shame" the local spokesman of the orange formation.

"The PP has not been content to distort the project that presented Cs in the Assembly and that provided 80 toilets directly in the schools in a first phase, as it wants the FAPA and the College of Nursing, is that we have ignored in that botched ".

The PSOE of Cartagena does not comply

Citizens also denounces that the Government of Cartagena of the PSOE is not fulfilling since September 2016 the plenary mandate to provide school nursery schools to children of its competence in Cartagena, "this initiative of 2016 came forward unanimously and since then both MC (in his days of government) as PSOE have ignored the order to provide financially the inclusion of this essential service in our day care centers. "

Cs Cartagena has announced that it will take this issue to the imminent negotiation of the next municipal budgets.

Educational needs

The president of the FAPA has also reported that she is currently preparing, in collaboration with all the Associations of Mothers and Fathers of Students (AMPA), a detailed report on the real needs in infrastructures, services and activities that the centers have.

"We have asked you to send us this dossier when you have finished it so that you can put pressure on the Municipal and Parliamentary Groups and update our demands in the field of education," said Manuel Padín.

Another issue that has been discussed in the meeting is the need to improve the technological base of the Cartagena education system, "has been and will be for Cs one of our workhorses because we think that the Ministry of Education is not understanding that its bet to be at the height of our kids, who are digital natives, is essential to conquer our future and adapt education to the new and dizzying times.

The Federation has also been informed of its collaboration with the different organizations and communication with the parliamentary groups in order to redouble efforts for the removal of asbestos in the schools of Cartagena and the region.

Cs and its commitment to education

Citizens has included in the budgets of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of 2019 an allocation of 10.4 million euros to promote children's education in the section between 0 and 3 years.

This measure includes free schooling in children's schools belonging to the Community, two of them in Cartagena, a deduction in the IRPF of up to 1,000 euros in school costs and aid for child education expenses in the stretch between 0 and 3 years for families with incomes below the limit required to pay for income tax.

In addition, Cs has included in the budget of this Ministry economic endowments for the free textbooks that in the next course will be extended to fifth and sixth grade of primary school, and investments for the improvement of energy efficiency in public centers, for educational centers in rural areas and to enhance Dual Vocational Training.

Despite this, Cs has been very critical of the fact that only two million euros have been invested at the regional level for Dual Vocational Training and 200,000 euros for special education, "only when Cs is so strong that it can apply directly their educational policies from the Government we can reverse this situation ", Padín has concluded.
